The Governor signed the HHS budget which includes the $100,000 appropriation transferred to the Iowa Department of Public Health to be used for a program to assist parents in this state with funeral costs resulting from the death of a child-effective July 1, 2014.
This is a VICTORY for grieving families in Iowa!
As we wait for the governor to sign HF 2463, we would like to thank every State Representative and Senator that supported this bill.
Our thanks and appreciation come from not only us, but the many grieving families this $100,000 will assist with funeral expenses across the state of Iowa.
A special thank you to Representatives Dean Fisher, Dave Heaton, Chuck Soderberg, Bob Kressig, Chuck Isenhart, Rob Bacon; Senators Jeff Danielson and Bill Dotzler; and Representative Candidate Timi Brown-Powers for believing in this appropriation and driving the need for compassion from the state government level.
